FAQ
What is the role-groups (pools) method?
The classic FOH/BOH structure: each role group (front of house, back of house, support, management) gets a fixed % of the total pool โ e.g. 60% FOH / 40% BOH โ then each group's share is split by hours within that group. Percentages auto-normalize, and each person's role decides their group.
How does the hours split work?
Each person gets tips ร (their hours รท total hours). Anna works 40 of 100 team hours on a $1,000 pool โ Anna gets $400.
How does the points / role-weight split work?
A person's points = hours ร role weight (server 1.0, busser 0.6, kitchen 0.7 โ editable in the table). Payout = tips ร (their points รท total points). This keeps senior roles' contributions weighted while still scaling with hours.
Does it handle cents and rounding?
Yes. Payouts round to the cent and the remainder goes to the first person, so ฮฃ payouts always equals the pool exactly โ your sheet balances.
Is my staff data uploaded anywhere?
No. There is no server. Names, hours and saved teams live only in your browser's local storage.
